Foras na Gaeilge

Foras na Gaeilge, the body responsible for the promotion of the Irish language throughout the whole island of Ireland, was founded on the second day of December 1999.

Foras na Gaeilge has responsibility for the promotion of the Irish language on an all-island basis. It has a role in advising administrations, North and South, as well as public bodies and other groups in the private and voluntary sectors, in all matters relating to the Irish language. It also undertakes supportive projects and grant aids bodies and groups throughout the island of Ireland.

Gnó Means Business  – focuses on the function and use of the Irish language in a business capacity.

Educational Resources to Order – there are resources available free-of-charge from Foras na Gaeilge for primary and post-primary schools.
